We Have Three Airports

We recommend using Airbnb to find a place to stay in the neighborhood. (Use discount code BB20 for $20 off.) If that’s not your style, there are two nearby hotels:

  • Fly into JFK. Once you land, either take a cab (follow airport signs for ground transportation), or take the subway.

    or

  • Fly into LGA. Once you land, follow airport signs for ground transportation, and take a cab.

    or

  • In a pinch, you can fly into EWR. If you’re rich, you can take a cab from the airport, otherwise you should take a deep breath, take the AirTrain to the train station, the New Jersey Transit to New York Penn Station, and then the subway.

Invisible Dog

The Invisible Dog, named for the invisible dog leash factory that used to inhabit it, is a new art space located at 51 Bergen Street in Brooklyn. The building has a terrific history and lots of Brooklyn charm. It’s the perfect place for a small, intimate conference. Click here for subway directions.

Cobble Hill

Cobble Hill is the lovely Brooklyn neighborhood that houses the Invisible Dog. It’s chock full of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and fun things to do. A special thank you to Airbnb for creating an Airbnb event for Brooklyn Beta. We think staying in a neighborhood apartment is the best way to get the full Brooklyn (Beta) experience. Use the discount code BB20 for $20 off.

Brooklyn, NY

Brooklyn is the largest borough of New York, the greatest city in the world. It’s similar to Manhattan, just a lot more awesome. In Brooklyn, you can find Prospect Park, Coney Island, and the majority of New York’s best neighborhoods. Living up to the hype of “best borough in the world” might seem difficult, but once you’ve spent some time here, you’ll believe.

Brooklyn is also the home of web design and development companies (Workshop, Big Spaceship, Carrot Creative, Huge), web startups (Etsy, Drop.io), and freelance badasses (Tina Roth Eisenberg, Jason Santa Maria).

Each autumn, Brooklyn becomes pretty much the prettiest place on the planet. Consider yourself lucky, and make time to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Brooklyn Museum while you’re here.

Planet Earth

Earth is the name of the planet that nearly all of our attendees live on. Roughly 71% of the its surface is covered with water. It is also the inventor of the koala bear.

The Universe

The universe is a vast place filled with stars, supernovas, and very likely aliens. It is home to such TV shows as Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. It has been kind enough to let us host the event in its space more or less free of charge.
